Türkischer Generalstabschef Hulusi Akar in Washington

Türkischer Generalstabschef Hulusi Akar hat sich am Sonntag in der US-Hauptstadt Washington mit seinem Amtskollegen General Joseph Dunford getroffen. Er wird am Montag im Andrews Militärstützpunkt in Maryland an einer Anti-Daesh Koalitionssitzung teilnehmen.

In einem fast zweistündigen Treffen diskutierten die beiden Generäle über diverse Themen, darunter die türkischen Militäroperationen in Syrien, die aktuellen regionalen Entwicklungen und die Mossul-Operation, wobei Mossul von Daesh befreit werden soll.

Während des Treffens der Generalstabchefs wurde das Gebiet um Dabiq im Nordwesten Syriens von der Freien Syrischen Armee mit Hilfe der Türkei von Daesh befreit.
